MAKE YOUR PLEDGE

Dear WildBeast from the WildEast!
We have been overwhelmed by the WildEast wildfire of enthusiasm around our movement. So many people have offered time, money, land, and in a sense, the most emotive of all sweat and tears - so THANK YOU!
We are working through your messages, enquiries, and pledges, so please bear with us - we will get back to you soon.

WildEast are proud to introduce our

Map of Dreams

A resource that will allow us to all track our progress against our mission to return 250,000 hectares to nature

THE STATE OF NATURE IN ENGLAND
IS IN CRISIS

with precipitous declines across all species from wild flowers and insects to many mammals and birds.
In the 50 years since the 1970’s we have lost abundance of so much, but nature is resilient and ready to flourish given a fair and lasting chance; in our region – WildEast is that chance.

WE Are...

WildEast’s three founding trustees, Hugh Somerleyton, Oliver Birkbeck and Argus Hardy are all East Anglians.

All are committed conservationists with a passion for the WildEast of England, its landscapes, its people and its wildlife. All are part of the local farming and business communities, and look forward to collaborating on exciting conservation projects with different people & partners on multiple scales across the WildEast

We want to live in a nature reserve – not just visit one

We want everyone to take the pledge and return 20% of whatever you have to nature – wilder, wetter, woodier – it doesn’t matter – but by doing so together we will return 250,000 hectares to the wild.

...that’s nearly half a million football pitches!
Raising Awareness, Money & Funding
Our movement targets 20% of the region’s inhabitants – approximately one million people – to take an active role in our mission by 2025 and commit to whatever level of pledge their circumstances allow. WildEast is developing a raft of meaningful ways to participate or otherwise support our programmes.

To contribute, you can:

Donate Land & Space: To be successful, we hope to return 250,000 hectares or 20% of acquired East Anglian land, back to nature, giving it the time and space needed to recover. From urban pathways to village greens, beautiful churchyards, strips alongside the edges of farmers’ fields, designated portions of new developments, and even those unused scraps of land hidden away behind the garden shed, every metre and acre donated can help bring our Map of Dreams to life.

Donate Money: Monetary donations will help us acquire land, improve education, spread awareness and reach our goals. WildEast’s Pledge includes raising the funds necessary to support the targeted acquisition of land to protect and strengthen nature networks – especially critically at risk hotspots - as set out by Natural England and our many varied wildlife trusts.

Donate Time & Education: Our mission will seek patrons, ambassadors, collaborators and commercial partners who can all work together to ensure that our shared vision becomes our reality. Further, WildEast believes education is the foundation stone of nature conservation. We aim to educate the next generation so our important mission remains at the forefront of local conversation.

Donate Involvement: WildEast aims to have our brand utilised as a clear and transparent accreditation for many businesses across the region. We invite businesses focused on good governance, philanthropy, tourism, commercial ventures and education to work with us to grow a greener and healthier regional economy.
WE want to hear from you...
